I am passionate about trauma work including folks recovering from complex trauma (PTSD or C-PTSD) and dissociative disorders. As a survivor of complex trauma, my work is guided by the tools that have helped me on my healing journey. I believe that healing is as complicated and creative as we are. A dynamic and individualized approach is needed. I partner with my clients to discover their strengths and the ways in which they want to grow. I offer tools from a number of modalities including: CBT, DBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness-based skills. I am a Certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA approved Consultant in Training. I have engaged in ongoing training to help best serve dissociative clients, queer populations, and marginalized populations.
I am also competent in providing gender-affirming care and am experienced in working with diverse gender identities, sexualities, and relationship styles. I utilize WPATH Standards of Care for Transgender and Gender-nonconforming folks. I have experience writing letters and advocating for client's that choose to pursue any medical care to support gender transition. I have taken the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project (GALAP) Pledge which means that I also meet with people for the purpose of providing these letters for their gender transition at no cost.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I seek to provide a space that is sex and body positive, honors neurodiversity, celebrates all bodies and differences in abilities, and embraces people from all racial, ethnic, cultural, and spiritual backgrounds.
